GORGES DU CHASSEZAC

Gorges

CEVENNES Mont Lozere

The Gorges du Chassezac make for a remarkable vision of granite rock outcrops and river water.
To the south of the Gorges du Chassezac lies the Cévennes and to the north is Margeride so the range of landscapes is impressive. With its 7km+ canyon and 400m difference in altitude at the Garde Guérin belvedere, Chassezac is famous for its rugged landscape to which it owes its alias of the 'l'antre du Diable' (the Devil’s den). Head for the belvedere to the north of Garde Guérin for incredible views of the site. Enjoy the show of roaring water, steep mountainsides and rocky peaks. This is a Unité Touristique de Pleine Nature listed site.
